My July Favourites

This month I have been using some amazing products to keep me going this summer (I struggle quite a lot in the heat), so I wanted to share with you some of my must haves to keep your skin and yourself hydrated, and just some extra little things I've been loving this month. A couple of them I have been using for a while, but it’s only until now when it’s getting hotter I have started to notice how helpful they have been.

Bubblegum Lip Scrub - Lush

I bought Lush’s Bubblegum lip scrub last month and I had been meaning to use it, but once the heat started to increase I decided now was probably a good time to use it. My absolute favourite thing about it is it smells so good! The Bubblegum/Candyfloss scent is so strong and it’s extremely delicious! (I swear I haven’t been eating it…). You put a little amount onto your finger tip and gently scrub it into your lips to get rid of any dead skin, and then once you’re done, you lick your lips! Then immediately your lips are soft and smell/taste gorgeous. I find it hard not to eat it, it looks like pure sugar and tastes like Candyfloss! Yummy!

One of the best things about buying a product from Lush too is that they are against animal testing, which I love about them.

Bourjois Rouge Edition Velvet lipstick

I am a massive fan of the Bourjois Rouge Edition Velvet Lipsticks. I originally bought 2 shades, Frambourjoise and Peach Club, which I wore nearly all the time. But now as it’s summer, I like to wear a lot of brighter colours, which gave me an excuse to buy another shade! So I went out and bought the shade Red Pepper. This shade is a vivid bright red colour, and a lot of the time with lipstick colours this deep I find they rub off very easily and the intensity disappears. With this shade, even if I feel like it’s rubbing off on things, the intensity is still there! They all leave a lovely velvety feeling once applied and they never fail to impress me. I will be increasing my collection soon!

DHC Cleansing Oil

This product I actually received in my Glamour Beauty Edit box earlier on in the month which I spoke about and this was one of the items I generally didn’t think I would like. I suffer from very oily skin and a lot of products I use tend to react badly with my skin, so I thought this would just be another one of those products I get and then put to the side after trialling them and not working. I was very pleasantly surprised though after just under a week of using it (during a time when my skin was suffering a bad break out), I could see it working immediately and I noticed the benefits of it. This oil is designed to dissolve make up and remove dirt and impurities from your pores. You take a little bit of the oil and massage it into your skin, then rinse it thoroughly with water. It leaves your skin feeling clean, fresh and smooth, and not oily at all! I seriously recommend this product if you’re like me and you suffer with bad break outs quite often. A small pot (30ml) costs £4.50, but I’m finding it’s lasting a long while. So if you’re worried about spending lots and then it not to work for you, buy the small pot and give it a go.

Ro’s Argan Body Conditioner – Lush

Another lush product! This is a must if you suffer from dry skin, especially in the summer. This works like a hair conditioner, but for your body. Apply it over wet skin, leave it to do its magic for a couple of minutes, wash it off, and pat dry once you’re done. It leaves your skin feeling irresistibly soft and smelling of roses. It works well on your knees too which I find mine can sometimes dry up a bit.

Sure Women Maximum Protection

This seems like a weird one to include in my monthly favourites, but the reason I have is because this has been a life saver! Where I work we are having a massive clean out and move in October, so we have started moving things around (I sell beds, so moving massive beds around). Due to this I’ve been getting very hot and sweaty, made worse being July too, but this deodorant has been brilliant. In the past, deodorants I’ve been using did nothing (Sprays, roll-ons and creams), and as soon as I did the littlest amount of exercise I’d start to sweat and I’d feel horrible. This deodorant constantly smells lovely, even after a lot of exercise and heavy lifting, and I feel no wetness! If you’re an active woman, or you’re in a high physical exertion job, I recommend you give this a try.

Peppermint Foot Rescue, Cooling Foot Spray and Foot File – The Body Shop

Now for some reason the past month or two my feet have been getting really dry. This freaked me out seeing as I wanted to wear sandals and flip flops, so I desperately went out on a hunt for the perfect foot remedy. I found this when doing a bit of late birthday shopping at the end of last month, and it’s worked like a charm! I have the Peppermint Intensive Foot Rescue, Peppermint Cooling Foot Spray and the File-A-Foot, all from The Body Shop. My routine is once I’ve had my bath or shower, I towel dry my feet and then leave them for a couple of minutes to dry completely. I then file them down to get rid as much dead skin as possible, clean away any excess, then apply the foot rescue. Once I’ve done both feet, I give them one last spray of the cooling spray to freshen them up, and then I’m good to go! The smell is a bonus. They really do keep your feet smelling lovely.

Tea – Tea Pigs

Now my last favourite is a very random one, but probably the most important, and that’s tea. The most important thing to do when it’s hot is to keep hydrated, and what better way to do that is by having some gorgeous refreshing flavours of tea! I've been loving having new, different flavours of tea from Tea Pigs. There are so many flavours and you can choose whether you want little sampler boxes, or full sized boxes. Flavours include; Rooibos Crème Caramel, Popcorn Tea, Super Fruit, Liquorice and Mint, and so many more! If you’re looking for something different to try or need an excuse to drink more tea this is the right thing for you!

Have you got any of these this month? What have been your favourites? Let me know in the comments!
